July 2009 Missions Report on Nigeria Fields

DIR AND PELU FIELDS

We have continued with our reorganization to enable us get maximum result from our various fields. Joseph and Victoria Adah have resumed in Dir field fully. Joel Dukiya who was in Dir was drafted to foreign mission and is still working on his new field in Benin Republic. Musa Magaji and Matthew Ganu who took over from Joel earlier are now to relocate to Pelu where they are to start a new work among the Peluawa people group of Bauchi State. This will mean trusting God for fund to start a mission house project where they will reside – at least three room apartments.

KAMBERI FIELD
Sunday Musa has continued to use his animal production skill to advance the gospel among the Kamberi and the Fulani groups. Barnabas and Fatima Haruna reported from Kuble station that more people are coming to the Lord. Their efforts at constructing a mission house have not been fruitful because the mud blocks molded were damaged when the rain set in. We may have to wait till the next dry season. We have bought three bundles of zinc and we will need two more. The Church at Lambo has been partially completed. The villagers are trooping in to worship God there but we are sill believing God to fix the doors, windows and to plaster and floor it. Thank you for helping to bring the project to this level and please consider tidying it up. The missionaries, Yohanna and Rahila Musa are very committed to the work. Please, pray along with us for the fruit of the womb for them. They have been married for over 10years without an issue.

BOLU FIELD

The Bolu mission house project has been completed at last despite the formidable opposition from the pit of hell. While, we were at the verge of completing it, the building tore apart but with your help, we refused to give up. Today, the building has been completed and occupied. This has caused a setback for the church building project. We already have cement blocks to complete the block work and zinc on the ground for the roof. This project has lingered long enough. Please, pray along with us for help from above. Again, we are grateful for your support thus far.

ZULLAWA AND DUKAWA FIELDS

Zull work is progressing with the deployment of Ladi Ekpa and Mary Ojile. The primary school has been revived and the Bum youths are responding to the gospel. The two missionaries were professional teachers before God called them. Samaila and Sabatu Luka are working hard in discipling the Dukawa people. The youths are responding well but we need to pray for the adult. Their daughter, Alheri was very sick and lots of money was spent on her. Please, pray for sound health for every member of his family.

Nigeria Fields Report

Samaila Luka is doing well with Dukawa people. Sunday Musa still coordinates the entire Kamberi work. His skill in Animal Production has continue to draw the Fulanis to him. Pray that as he treats their livestock and minister the gospel of salvation to them, they will respond positively to the gospel. Thank God for the 13 Kamberi persons that also recently gave their lives to Christ.

Josephine and Moustapha of Bolu Field covets your prayer. For the second time, they lost their baby (still birth) after nine months of pregnancy. More persons are attending the church gatherings at Bolu but the genuineness of their salvation requires prayers.

Nathaniel and Mercy Udalor of Zull field have continued to harvest souls into God’s kingdom among the Zullawas. The latest convert is Mrs.Shuka Danladi. Pray that Christ will be formed in her.

Joel Dukiya and his wife of Dir Field are doing well in Dir. They have dedicated their new motor bike and cover more surrounding villages.

FRESH WAR ON BOLU FIELD

It is now as if all hell has been let loose on Bolu Field. The village head and elders recently vowed to withdraw the wives of all our converts if they refuse to participate in their annual initiation ceremony. We are glad that despite the threat, the converts have continued to stand. They come to church regularly and are growing in their Christian faith. They are determined to pay whatever price to stand in the faith. Please, pray along with us that God Almighty will strengthen the. Thus far, no wife has been snatched. Pray also that their wives will come to know the Lord.

We are concern about those who are yet to give their lives to Christ. They are really afraid of taking decision in the face of the threat. The missionaries, Pastor and Mrs. Moustapha Oumarou have continued to preach the gospel and show the village head and the Elders love.

Adult literacy which has been the bridge-gapping strategy does not attract many people during this farming season. Pray wit us thae desire of the Bolu nation will be turned to God. Musa Magaji has joined the Oumarous as a missionary trainee.

TRAGEDY STRUCK AT DIR FIELD

The houses of several of our converts were gutted by midnight fire recently at Dukawa field. The extent of the damage cannot be quantified as everything belonging to them including the foodstuff in their barn and their unbelieving relations belongings were burnt to ashes. We are grateful that God spared their lives. No single life was hurt. The cause of the fire is not known. We covet prayers for the people and gifts to help replace some of their basic items.

The missionary couples, Pastor & Mrs. Joel covet prayers for divine health, financial resources to renovate their hut which is virtually collapsing and more grace for their increasing number of converts. They also requested for a motor cycle to enable them cover more places effectively. Pray for divine provision.
