Update on Denis Tavares
For those that joined us in praying for our brother and God's servant, Denis Tavares, we want to say thank you. The mother and his wife just informed us that his check-up today indicated that he is improving. We will continue to count on your prayer until God perfects all that concerns him.
November 2017 Missions' Update
Calvary greetings in Jesus name. Thank you for your partnership with us these past months. Your input in the work has made a profound impact and we will like to share some of the updates with you as usual.
Mad Man Delivered In Kamberi Field
![]() |
| Sunday Musa, Kamberi/Benin Rep. Regional Coordinator |
A young man afflicted with madness was brought to the Kamberi mission house after the family had tried other means including Juju priest. Our missionaries prayed for him and he was fully delivered. Seeing God’s mighty works, several persons including a prostitute surrendered their lives to Christ.
The Regional Coordinator, Sunday Musa reported that snakes are common on the field now especially in the mission house and the school premises. Several persons narrowly escaped being bitten recently including the daughter of the field leader and children at Home of Grace (HOG) at Borgu-Samunaka. We are trusting God for the fund to fumigate the place as soon as possible. We covet your prayers for divine protection especially this hot season that the snakes look for cool places to hide. You will recall that we lost a missionary’s son to snakebite early this year. Affliction must not arise the second time.
Two teachers were hired by the Field Leader to complement the missionaries in teaching the children in the school on the mission field. One of them is a graduate of College of Education with an NCE. We are trusting God for more laborers especially volunteers that will help in the school even if it is on a short-term basis as well as resources to take care of those hired to work. The school is virtually free of charge so it cannot sustain itself like other city schools. We, therefore, trust God for all the funding to run it.
Miracles Attract Dukawas to Christ
The healing power of God has continued to attract many to the gospel. Recently, the
traditional ruler expressed his interest to accept Jesus into his life but feared that it may be difficult for him to stop taking alcohol and stop smoking. We covet your prayers for him to truly surrender his life to Christ as promised. At least, over 40 women have yielded their lives to the Lord but the men are still very resistant to the gospel.

| Sayeri, Dukawa Field Leader |
There are strange occurrences at the Dukawa village where our missionary couple, Sayeri and Saadat reside. We need divine intervention to address them. Sometimes, one hears very loud laughter while the person laughing is not seen. Other times very strong demonic whirlwind comes around as if sent to uproot the mission house. Some of these experiences are naturally scary especially when they occur at midnight but we covet your prayers for the power of God to subdue them.
Migrants Mount Pressure on Dir Converts
![]() |
| Yohanna & Rahila Musa, Dir Field Leader |
Some of the converts from the field were under attack. They kept finding it difficult to succeed in their endeavors including their academics. These diabolic challenges are now broken. Two of the Dirawas in Jos passed their School certificate examination with adequate credit to secure admission to the university in the last examination.
Joy in Zull Village
The house of one of the converts in Zull field caught fire and got burnt. Touched by the plight of the woman, the missionary there, Moses Adebisi mobilized the church to build her another house. They built a two-room apartment for her in place of the burnt house. The woman was very happy. Also, many others in the village were filled with joy. Hopefully, that good deed will serve as a seed to attract people to the gospel not long from now. Meanwhile, the Mission House project in Zull needs some more fund to fix doors and windows.
Fasting and Prayer for Bolu People
![]() |
| Nuhu and Sabatu Karanbara, Bolu Field Leaders |
A student on a field trip to Bolu field, Philemon Saba felt that the work on Bolu field requires intensive fasting and prayer if there must be a positive result. He then began a month-long fasting and prayer. The missionary couple who were newly posted to the field, Nuhu and Sabatu Karanbara felt the need to join him.
God then began to work on the people. One of the believers who was enticed with a bag of corn to become Muslim came back to his senses and express the desire to return to his faith. The Bolu elders also began to open up on why they don’t want to accept Christ. They explained that the early missionaries that worked in the field sent their children to the cities and the children no longer want to return. They are therefore afraid that if they or their children accept Christ, they are likely to move to the city and will not return again. Now that we know why they don’t want to accept Christ, we know better how to pray and engage them. Pray along with us that as we engage them, the Spirit of God will convict them.
Water Baptism in Niger Republic
![]() |
| Recent water baptism |
A common challenge in most of our fields in Niger republic is fear. The missionaries covet your prayer for this spirit to be subdued. At Tibiri and Bankoula, many young people expressed their love for Christ and willingness to surrender their lives to Him if they can conquer fear. The Bankoula and Gobirawa missionaries (name withheld) specifically ask for prayer for the fund to fence their compound because the youths prefer to sneak in to discuss the gospel and sneak out as they don’t want the villagers to see them as they would easily suspect that they want to become Christian. At Ahole, 12 of the youths who were bold enough to respond to the gospel have been baptized. The missionary couple stressed the need to pray for a fund for the completion of the mission house project which is at lintel level now. The National Director was involved in an automobile accident and had a fracture on his right hand. Pray along with us for speedy healing.
God is at Work in Benin Republic
God is at work among the Bokko people. Some of them who initially resisted the gospel when our missionaries first started work are now embracing the gospel. Power encounter is, however, more real there than any other country we are working. The spiritual forces react very fiercely and attack just anybody that surrenders his or her life to Christ. We covet prayers for all the converts especially, a young boy, Samuel whom the extended family threatens to deal with him and his parents because of their faith in Christ.
Prayer Need for our Co-labourers in South America
![]() |
| Denis Tavares, Peru |
For many years now God has helped us to make a valuable input in the evangelization of South America. These were made possible through our networking with a frontline evangelist, Douglas. We covet your prayer for him and his family because they are going through difficult challenges. The wife had a stroke and the daughter psychiatric challenge. Also, another co-laborer who labored with me during our ministry at Acre, Denis Tavares now working in Peru has heart enlargement. Please, join us to pray for God’s healing power to come on him. He was recently moved from Peru to his family home in Brazil.
Conclusion
Thank you for your prayers and financial sacrifices that have brought us to this point. May God reward you richly. We are extremely grateful.
October 2017 Missions Update
Greetings in Jesus name. We trust that this update will meet you growing in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. On behalf of the leadership team and the missionaries in the Grace Foundation team, I want to register our profound appreciation for your selfless, sacrificial partnership over the past months. The challenges confronting our work are becoming fiercer by the day, but God has remained gracious. It is difficult to put some of our reports in print but be assured that your prayers and financial support have meant so much to us. We will continue to desire your prayers. Below are some of the testimonies of what God is doing and some of the challenges that require more of your prayers:
Boy with Epilepsy Healed in Kamberi Field as 12 Converts Were Baptized at Bum
| Water Baptism at Furaka |
Signs and wonders have continued to back up our work on the Kamberi work making it easier to get people to surrender their lives to Christ. According to the Field leader, Sunday Musa, God miraculously healed a boy who was epileptic. The attendance of our discipleship class has improved significantly. The building project at Samunaka is ongoing, but there is a challenge of getting pickup van to pack sand and stones. Sixteen additional beams have been installed, and 400 blocks are still needed to complete the block work.
At Bum, 12 converts were baptized after series of discipleship class. Another set of 16 is also undergoing baptismal class. The Field leader, Ladi Ekpa reported that God has been touching lives as some of the villagers come on their own to enquire more about the gospel. One of them, Esther Yohanna recently surrendered her life to Christ. She covets your prayers against the death of women during childbirth which has happened to two women in the church. Also, she is trusting God for financial help to meet the need of her children’s school fees.
At Zull, the converts took up the challenge of building a house for their missionary. The building has been roofed and they now trusting God for funds to fix doors, windows, and finishing so that the missionary can move in. According to the missionary on the field, Moses Adebisi, the converts gave themselves to fasting and prayer for a greater harvest of souls.
Yohanna and Rahila Musa reported from Dir field that the people are responding well to the gospel compared to the past now. They, however, appealed for fervent prayer support for financial provision for the converts and grace for the youths to stand strong in the face of challenges.

The work is gradually picking up at Kwala-Gobirawa despite increasing challenges. Islam is fighting back, and as a result, some of the converts returned to Islam. We have not given up. Join us to pray that the Lord will still touch the backslidden ones and strengthen the remaining converts.
At Salkam village, the report is different. The lives of the converts are quite encouraging and more and more persons are responding to the gospel. At least 10 of the converts congregate for discipleship and worship. Again, we covet prayers for them to continue to stand firm in Christ. They desire a missionary that will be stationed in the village as the Malikis currently cover several villages which does not allow for concentration and effectiveness.

Home of Grace (HOG)’s Kids Continue to Excel as More Needs Stare at Us

| Daniel & Jonathan |
Our joy knew no bounds when the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results of Salisu Chiroma and Jonathan Umaru were released. They both came out with flying colors, having made all their papers. We are wholeheartedly grateful to God for His faithfulness and love towards the HOG kids.
The kids have been a tangible proof of His work with us and amongst us.
Most of them resumed for the new session on September 11, 2017, equipped with necessary academic materials. For this, we say thank you for allowing God to use you as a source of blessing. We are praying that your cruise of oil will never run dry.
We have been able to pay the school fees of eight of them and are still trusting God for the others. The missionary kids at home, in particular, need some help. Also, one of our missionary’s daughter has to pay Eighty thousand naira (N80,000) for the three terms at once because she is in her final session. That is the rule in her school. Some of them still lack some of the textbooks they need. Please, pray for us that Jehovah-Jireh will provide so that all these needs will be met.
Conclusion
Again, thank you so much for your partnership. Please, pray for us than ever. We need God now than ever. Pray for fresh inner strength to courageously continue with the work. Pray for good health and wisdom. Pray for God to persuade people to provide the much-needed funds to pay the outstanding stipends of our missionaries, our unsettled bills and complete some of our outstanding projects. God bless you richly.

At Ahole, God blessed the missionary couple with a car in answer to our prayers. We are grateful to all our partners in Niger republic that made the dream a reality. They can now drive from Ahole to Tibiri to drop the Home of Grace (HOG) kids to school and to bring them back. The Mission House project is currently on hold for lack of finances. Please, join us to pray that God should provide the fund to enable us to complete the project as soon as possible. The building is at roofing stage.

August 2017 Missions' Update
Calvary love and greetings in Jesus name. Thank you so much for remaining part of this work and for the active role you have played in helping us to take the gospel to the least reached tribes in Nigeria and abroad despite the increased challenges, stress, and treats. We are indeed advancing against all the odds, and we remain committed to providing you update with what God has used your partnership to accomplish as well as highlight our needs and prayer points.
Conversion and Discipleship across the Fields
We here continue to enjoy God’s presence in our efforts to present Christ. Our missionaries across many of the fields reported several cases of persons who surrendered their lives to Christ. Efforts are on to help them become like Christ. Persecution has remained a norm, and we solicit your prayer that God will sustain all our converts. In addition to occasional physical assaults and deprivation, there have been several spiritual attacks targeted at them. Our consistent prayer request is that no weapon fashioned against them should prosper.
Major Progress at Home of Grace (HOG)
![]() |
| Some of the HOG kids |
The HOG has remained a powerful tool that God is using to put eternal smiles on the faces of vulnerable and orphan kids. Three of the children, Dauda, Blessing, and Jacinta just completed their Junior Secondary School (JSS). Jonathan also completed both his WAEC and NECO examination. His WAEC result is out, and he had six credits. One of his subjects is still outstanding. Comfort passed her common entrance and will resume in a secondary school in September 2017. All the kids were promoted to their next class. They are currently going through holiday school that is being handled by four corps members. By next month, the school will resume, and we will be faced with the challenges of new school uniforms, textbooks, school fees, etc. with foodstuff and other incidentals, we will require a hefty sum of about N550, 000:00 to conveniently cope. Would you kindly pray along with us for financial supply?
Beyond Praying for Labourers
The greatest need in our mission agencies, as well as many others that I know, is that of a credible workforce. More nations are opening up for the gospel, but the shortage of laborers is such that even the few missionaries available are gradually going into extinction. To the glory of God, at some of the conferences I was privileged to speak last month, no fewer than 70 persons responded to missionary call. At the Igala Missions Summit where we presented the latest research work containing the list and locations of 217 villages without any known church, we had scores of persons who expressed their willingness to take the gospel to these villages. At the Interdenominational missions summit that concluded at Oro, Kwara State, Nigeria many others responded. We encourage them to report for our one-year cross-cultural mission training, but the complaint has remained lack of fund. Please, pray for God’s intervention in this area as we desperately need more workers if we must cover more ground.

Progress in field project
The outer wall of the mission house project in the Niger Republic has moved on to lintel level, and our funds are completely exhausted. We need N200,000.00 to tidy up the inner wall that has not gotten to the lintel level as well as tidy up the entire post lintel work. We also need N480, 000.00 for the roofing and finishing accessories like doors and windows. The tricycle donated by Samaritan purse was very useful for the project. The Home of Grace kids also helped to cut down cost as they assisted in packing the gravels used for the pillars. Our desire is to get this project completed in the next two months.

God blessed our missionary couple at Kwalan-Gobirawa, Rahila and Isa Maliki with a new grinding machine. Please join us to pray for DaySpring Ministry for being used by God to provide that powerful tool. In addition to generating additional income for the missionaries, it will also bridge the gap between the missionaries and the Gobirawas.
Conclusion
Thank you for taking the time to read this update. As usual, there are many more reports we cannot share through this medium because of the security risk involved. We covet your prayers for more of his grace. We are going through severe financial pressure and want to appeal to you to kindly pray along with us for a miracle. May God bless you for all your sacrifices.

Narrow Escape for our Kuble Missionary Couple

| Collapsed mission house at Kuble |
The devil again struck at one of our mission fields. A terrible flood took over Kuble village and the house of one of our missionary couples, Ibrahim and Maryam collapsed on them.
Looking at the building, you will know that it was a miracle that the couple and their children survived. Only the children had cuts, but they are recovering gradually. Please join us in thanking God for that victory. We are trusting God to rebuild the mission house with cement block and stone foundation as there is no building to rent in the village. Meanwhile, a number of mission houses have been completed in other Kamberi villages awaiting roofing. Responses to the gospel in this area have been very positive and the least we can do to encourage them is to pray for them and help them in completing their mission houses.

Another Step Forward for Home of Grace (HOG)
Join us in thanking God for the successful graduation of Blessing Garba, Dauda Maisamari, and Jacinta Yakubu from Junior Secondary School. Also, Jonathan Umoru has completed his Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination and passed the cut-off point for admission. Please, pray that God will grant him favour when the admission process begins. We had severe challenges paying the fees of some of them, but God intervened.
Work Resumed on Niger Republic Mission House
After a long wait, God provided resources for us to commence work again on the Ahole Mission House building at the Niger Republic. The wall has gotten to window level and in a short while will get to lintel level. Thank God for the provision and kindly pray for resources to enable us to continue and finish the project. The project will require another ₦480,000 to become habitable.
Igala Nation Mission Research Project Ready for Dedication
For 14 years, we have joined hands with some mission leaders in Igala land to research into the villages that are yet to have a taste of the gospel. We just completed the 2017 edition of the databank. 1116 settlements were covered out of which 217 have no church, and 528 that have churches do not have a pastor over them. The book will be presented to the church leaders in Igala land at the Igala Missions Summit at Ankpa on July 19- 22, 2017. Thank God with us for the grace and wisdom to effectively get the job done and pray for wisdom to effectively get the job done and for the leaders attending the summit to see reasons why they should focus on the remaining villages and give them an opportunity to hear about Jesus.
Prayer Needs
Thank you for all your prayers. We are coming back to you with more prayer needs because of answers we have received in the past. God has blessed us with a good number of converts this past month. Some are going through severe persecution, pray for inner strength for them. We have prospective missionaries needing resources to commence training. Please pray that God will provide.
We also covet your prayers for strength and grace to follow Jesus in the face of persecution, for resources and for completion of building projects across four of our mission fields. Pray for divine protection for all our missionaries and their families and above all, pray for strength and grace for our leadership team. We are also praying for you. God bless you richly.
The Church is Bigger than You Think - A New Look at Morrocco
The meeting takes place on a public site. "It is said that there are 150,000 Christians, but we say that we could reach a million. There is no a place in the country where there is not at least one Christian; in some cases, there are several in the same family but they do not know about each other. The day that the laws change and religious freedom is a reality, everyone will come to the light and we will realize that we are many”, says Mustafa, a Christian leader from the south of Morocco (last name omitted to protect his family).

Health Benefits of Genuine Honey
“My son, eat thou honey, for it is good” — King Solomon, Proverbs 24:13
1. Prevent cancer and heart disease
2. Reduce ulcers and other gastrointestinal disorders
Recent research shows that honey treatment may help disorders such as ulcers and bacterial gastroenteritis. This may be related to the 3rd benefit.
1. Prevent cancer and heart disease
It contains flavonoids, antioxidants which help reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease.

3. Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-fungal
“All honey is antibacterial because the bees add an enzyme that makes hydrogen peroxide,” said Peter Molan, director of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

4. Increase athletic performance
Ancient Olympic athletes would eat honey and dried figs to enhance their performance. This has now been verified with modern studies, showing that it is superior in maintaining glycogen levels and improving recovery time than other sweeteners.

It helps with coughs, particularly buckwheat honey. In a study of 105 children, a single dose of buckwheat honey was just as effective as a single dose of dextromethorphan in relieving nocturnal cough and allowing proper sleep.

6. Balance the 5 elements
It has been used in ayurvedic medicine in India for at least 4000 years and is considered to affect all three of the body’s primitive material imbalances positively. It is also said to be useful in improving eyesight, weight loss, curing impotence and premature ejaculation, urinary tract disorders, bronchial asthma, diarrhea, and nausea.

Honey is referred as “Yogavahi” since it has a quality of penetrating the deepest tissues of the body. When honey is used with other herbal preparations, it enhances the medicinal qualities of those preparations and also helps them to reach the deeper tissues.
7. Blood sugar regulation
Even though it contains simple sugars, it is NOT the same as white sugar or artificial sweeteners. Its exact combination of fructose and glucose actually helps the body regulate blood sugar levels. Some kinds of honey do have a low hypoglycemic index, so they don’t jolt your blood sugar.
