September 2025 Missions Update

Calvary greetings in Jesus' name, and welcome to the ember month. We pray that the evil of the ember months will not come near you. We also pray that all the blessings of God earmarked for you this season will not elude you in Jesus' name. The past few months have been challenging, yet filled with testimonies of God’s intervention. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership throughout this tough season.

Thriving in Times of Insecurities

As we are aware, the Yar Mamuda(the new sect of Boko Haram) dominating Kwara and Niger State

Pastor Sunday Musa recuperating

invaded our Kamberi field and abducted our field leader, Pastor Sunday Musa, and kept him in a dungeon for 15days. After many prayers, God had mercy on us and caused him to be released after parting with a considerable sum. Thank you so much for the role you played, and we pray that God Almighty bless you.

The kidnappers threatened to use the last drop of their blood to stop the spread of the gospel in the land and warned that we must withdraw the other missionaries in the land, otherwise, they too will be kidnapped. We prayed about the threat and decided to withdraw six of our missionaries who are non-indigenes, leaving behind 16 indigenous missionaries. In place of the missionaries who were withdrawn from the field, we posted the Regional Leader for the North East, Yohanna Musa, who is a Kamberi indigene, to proceed to the field on relief duty. He was able to meet with the remaining missionaries, encouraged them, and work is going on amidst threats. Some of the missionaries rarely sleep in their houses because grapevine sources confided in us that they are the next target of kidnapping. The missionaries who were withdrawn from the Kamberi field were deployed to Bankoula. Niger Republic, Oma, Benue State, and Zull, Bauchi State.

Discipleship Efforts

Despite the insecurities, the work is thriving as more people are embracing the Lordship of Jesus, and discipleship is ongoing. The Disciples Making Movement (DMM) has been very beneficial. Many more Discovery Bible Study (DBS) groups have been established to consolidate ongoing discipleship efforts. The DBS helps us to weather the storm of insecurity.

Church Project Update

The ongoing church building project at Kobonka, Bauchi State, has reached the completion stage.  All the plastering, both inside and outside, has been completed, as has the painting.

In the Niger Republic, God provided speed to the ministry's work at Tibiri through the purchase of a brand-new motorcycle. The missionary team was truly excited and encouraged.

Our greatest challenge now in the Republic of Niger is the completion of the Kwalan Gobirawa Mission House. There are no houses to rent on the field, and the old mission house where the missionary resides is falling apart; efforts to redeem it are not yielding results, as the cracks are increasing and growing deeper. The new mission house is

Collapsed Ahole Mission House

more solid, but it is still at window level. Sayeri Mousa and her family are living in a house at Libante, Benin Republic, without a toilet and kitchen. Elkanna Saboof Bankoula Field, Niger Republic, has to wait until it is very dark to take his bath because the house has no bathroom, toilet, or kitchen. Our goal is to provide the best possible facilities for all our missionaries. At Oma, Andrew Marafa and Moustapha Attani trek some kilometers to fetch water every day. We have no resources to drill a borehole, and unfortunately, the water reservoir we dug and plastered with water for them could not retain water. We need fund to redo it.. Please join us in prayer for the funds to continue and complete the work swiftly.

Advanced Missions Leadership Course

The current challenges the ministry is facing are undeniable. The key leaders of the ministry will regroup and retreat to advance in the face of adversity from October 1 to 7, 2025. It is hoped that the participants will return to their constituencies to provide stronger guidance to those they lead. The training retreat will be open to missionaries from other organizations with 10years or more of experience in ministry. Pray along with us for fresh oil for the participants, journey mercies, and funds to host the seven-day meeting.

Home of Grace(HOG) Update

The HoG kids completed their third term successfully, while four of them, who had also completed their secondary school, earned nine distinctions/credits each. They all had good JAMB scores. We are now praying for them to be admitted into universities. The younger ones will be resuming in September. We trust the Lord for all the funds needed for their textbooks, school fees, and new uniforms.

Missions Training

The School of Cross-Cultural Missions is making progress. Batch 28, comprising 14 missionary trainees, has just completed their internship and returned to class. A new set of students is warming up for the next module. For bonding and other practical purposes required for equipping the trainees, we still maintain the rule of cooking their meals together. This is extremely expensive and capital-intensive. Most schools of missions have dropped this practice. To sustain it, we invite you to join us in praying for additional funding. Pray also with us that Christ be formed in the lives of the trainees and that they will graduate to fulfil the purpose of their training.
