We organized our first Advanced School of Ministry in March, 2008. 48 ministers from four countries and ten different organizations participated. The former head of M.A. in Missions Program at the Oral Roberts University, Professor Ron Meyers and his wife, Dr. Char Meyers were the principal facilitators.
Other key resource persons include the Director of World Missions Centre in Southern Africa, Rev. Joao Luis, the Research Director of Inserv, Rev. Peter Vumisa and Rev. Tony Ocloo, the new National Director of Grace Foundation Inland Missions in Ghana. The Empower Africa Christian Leadership Curriculum was adopted and testimonies emerging from the training program were awesome. It also served as a refresher program for all the staff of GFIM. We give God the glory.
After the ASOM, we hosted mission leaders from Central Africa Republic, South Africa, Zambia, Chad, Cameroon, USA, Niger Republic, Ghana and almost all the states in Nigeria for the African Missions Summit (AMS 2008). The summit which had as its theme, Breaking the Siege was a great time of fellowship for the mission leaders. One of the highlight of the summit was the inauguration of the Network of African Mission Leaders (NAMIL) with 36 mission leaders as pioneer members.
